‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ is an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of independence of progressive India and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements. The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ by flagging off ‘Dandi March’ from Sabarmati Ashram, Ahmedabad on 12th March, 2021.
To mark the occasion, Staford School organised a series of events to pay tribute to a charismatic leader and a defiant patriot, Subhash Chandra Bose and to commemorate the declaration of INA Raising Day.
The Indian National Army (INA) was an armed force formed by Indian nationalists in 1942 in Southeast Asia during World War II. Its aim was to secure Indian independence from British rule.
In an impressive special assembly, the students emphasised on the significance of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav and INA and paid homage to a great visionary, Subhash Chandra Bose through a melodious performance. The special assembly concluded with a speech by Principal, Staford School, Mrs. Ratna Khanna, who exhorted the present generation to work hard not only to uphold the benchmark set by the predecessors but also to achieve greater heights of glory.
Various class activities added to the celebration. Students of classes I to XII participated with zeal to exhibit their love for nation. Classes I and II recited patriotic poems in English and Hindi, expressing their song ‘Kadam Kadam badhaye jaa’. Classes V and VI made beautiful sketches of their favourite freedom fighters. Colourful and vibrant posters were made by students of classes IV, VIII and XII on topics like Clean Village, Gobardhan and Nav Bharat Udyan. Classes IX and X wrote essays on topics ‘Azadi par mera vichar’ and ‘The Making of a Nation’. A display logo was designed by class XI students focussing on the celebration of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.
The atmosphere was charged with patriotic pride. The activities reiterated the fact that the future of a nation is bright only when it remains moment by moment with the pride of its past experiences and heritage.
