“You have to dream before your dream can come true”

As per the directions of CBSE, Staford School paid rich tributes to freedom fighter, philosopher and eminent educationist, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, to mark his birth anniversary on November 11. On this occasion, various activities like essay writing, poster making, collage making and poetry composition were organised for the students of classes VII to IX on the topic Importance of literacy and education for the well-being of the society.
The celebration was given a modest beginning by recalling the events related to his life in the School Assembly. While the students of Class IX emphasised on the importance of literacy in the essay writing activity, Class VIII designed attractive and colourful posters on the same. They also made a collage on the poetries written by Maulana Azad highlighting a lesser known fact about him of being a good urdu poet along with a freedom fighter and a nation builder. Class VII students composed some wonderful poems on his life. The Principal of the school , Ms. Vijaya Kumar recalled that Maulana was not only proficient in many languages but also an educationist, poet and writer. She also reminded that he was the first Education Minister in Jawaharlal Nehru’s Cabinet and was remembered for his contribution to the field of education.
