Amidst academic and co curricular activities and their hectic schedules, each student, teacher and staff have their eyes focused on one event – “The Graduation Day” in the academic calendar. The beams of laughter, the tears of sorrow, the hard work, appreciation and criticisms and then the final countdown begins for this most awaited day.
On Saturday, 29th March, 2016, the school atrium wore a festive look, illuminated with shining faces of kindergarten students of Staford School, as the school celebrated the 3rd Graduation Day Ceremony of their KG students.
Honourable chief guest for the event was Mrs. Anjali Bansal, the co-founder of the school.
The celebrations began with a welcome dance by the students of Nursery. The vibrant music, coordinated dance steps and breathtaking colours promptly set the tone and mood at Staford School while the little Stafordians thanked their parents to the tone of “Yeh toh sach hai k bagwaan hai.” They paid tribute to their teachers by dancing and hopping on the tunes of “Tak tak dhoom dhoom.”
The choir group comprising of KG students performed live before the audience rendering eternal compositions like ‘The more we are together’. These budding singers held the audience in rapt attention.
The cultural extravaganza was interspersed with the most important event of the day- The Graduation of KG students to the Primary classes. They walked the ramp adorned in traditional convocation gowns and caps. Their smiling faces were welcomed by rapturous applause from the audience as they received scrolls of merit on the stage. It was indeed heartwarming to see teary eyed parents as they watched their little angels grow into butterflies ready to flit away into the sky yonder.
The other set of Nursery and KG students left everybody spellbound with their next performance on the very popular number “Taare zameen par”. These dancers are the youngest ones in this school but their moves gave spectators the feel of watching professionals.
A flamboyant, Nursery and KG troupe followed on the stage to groove to a fusion of Latino Mexican numbers “La Bamba-Las Ketchup. The tiny graduates finally thanked their parents, teachers and the school for all the support, love and care by dancing and singing to the tunes of “It’s a graduation day.”
Let’s wish for the graduating students and for the younger lot waiting to don the reputable graduation gown next year-“May flowers always line your path and sunshine light your day. May song birds serenade you every step along the way. May a rainbow run beside you in a sky that’s always blue.”
Today we stand proud of a new beginning, as our little ones move forward from Kindergarten to Grade One. These little ones that are receiving their first diplomas will be our future high school graduates, moving forward to yet another new beginning in the different chapters of their lives.
