Thursday, 1st October 2015, brought a pleasant surprise for the tiny tots of nursery, kindergarten and class I when they were taken for a joy-ride on a horse-driven cart, also known as Tonga. For most of the children, this was their first exposure to a horse and a first up and close experience with any domestic or farm animal.
The children were excited to see the horse in the school campus and were eager to go for a horse ride. It was a thrilling experience for most of them. The students enjoyed themselves thoroughly and were not ready to alight from the horse. The Tonga ride was a hit and gave the children an opportunity to develop balance and improve coordination and motor function.
With this fun-filled activity, it became easier for the children to understand about the food , behaviour, habitat and work habits of this faithful animal. It also instilled the feeling of love, sensitivity and care towards animals.
