Festive spirit was in the air at Staford School on 28th October, 2016, as the students and the staff celebrated Diwali i.e the festival of lights, crackers and sweets, with full gusto and enthusiasm. The Rangoli made by the students added to the perfect setting of the festivity. The programme began with ‘Ganesh Vandana’ followed by a speech given by the students of class IX acquainting the children about the significance of celebrating Diwali and stressing upon the need to embrace greener and safer modes of enjoying this festival. The program proceeded with an instrumental performance by the students of music club. The students of classes IV to VIII then presented a dance performance, which enthralled the audience with its graceful moves. The song ‘Diwali Aayi’ brought out the essence of the festival focusing on the celebration of life and goodness. The students gave speeches talking about how good always conquers the evil and also about why and how Diwali is celebrated across India.
The special assembly concluded with an illuminating speech by respected Principal ma’am, sensitizing students to the ill effects of crackers and giving away the message of a clean, peaceful and a bright Diwali. This celebration enlightened the hearts and became a source of joy for everyone.
